About V is for Visuals
V is for Visuals, also known as Vanessa (V) Lansdale, is a digital artist and photographer based out of Denver, Colorado. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, her artwork explores the relationship between contrast, line, and shape, creating environments for viewers to reflect on their perspective of and relationship with the world around them. Common themes in V's work include the dynamic between black and white elements and the relationship between technology and nature. Her photography takes a documentarian approach, showcasing the beauty, abundance, and detail of our world with a focus on natural compositions and colors.
V's goal is to work at the intersection of community building, art & design, technology, & interactive experiences, and positively impact small businesses, individuals, and artists through 3D animation, murals, graphic design, photography, web development, and more.
Photography
As a child, I was surrounded by the art of documenting moments—my dad, likely inspired by his parents (who were both professional photographers in Toronto), was always behind the camera, capturing our family's adventures.
I started taking photographs with a simple point-and-shoot Hello Kitty camera when I was in my early teens, then moving to a Fujifilm point-and-shoot, and later was gifted a Nikon DSLR from my grandpa when I started my first photography class in college. After seven years of practicing photography, I continue to shoot with a Nikon as a tribute to my grandparents, who also used Nikon during their careers.
Art & Graphic Design
After spending two years as a full-time van lifer, I was deeply inspired by the places I visited, which further ignited my passion as a creator. This led to the creation of V is for Visuals, where I currently experiment with various artistic styles via digital and mixed mediums.
Web Development
As a full-time website developer and project manager, I'm passionate about helping small businesses build their online presence through visually stunning and search engine-optimized websites.
